All hand made and hand finished. No shapers, no routers so you get slight imperfections that proudly pronounce the piece as unique.

Will antique as with this Postman's Cabinet.

 

 

The piece on the left is a fully hand constructed replica of a Postman's cabinet. This style of cabinet was used to sort mail in the late 19th century. This one is made with antiqued white oak. The top section sits freely on the base.

 

I designed the piece on the right for sheet music. The wood is Sapele (African Mahogany). There is no hardware as all the slides are hand made, all the dovetails of the drawers and carcase are hand cut. The molding is made with a hand beader and hollows and rounds. I occasionally use a stanley 55 and 45 plane as well. The handles are made from a salvage piano. The ebony from the keys helps to tie in the musical theme of this cabinet.
